After the last couple of weeks of farmers markets and a conservation show and tell gathering, people talking about the current conditions of their plants, are either very pleased, very sad, or I don’t know what or why it looks the way it does. Tremendous amount of second guessing going on and some success is happening and total disaster on the other side of the spectrum. Very little in between. (HINT) Look at your daily temps and one can see potentially the main issue – HEAT – tremendous amount of it! What does one do? Irrigate more frequently, which one has to for the benefit of the plants to be able to standup and survive it. One of the end results of using more water, nutrients can be less available for plant uptake for they are on the move with the water going down the soil profile. Some nutrients are very water soluble in nature so they move. Knowing your soil type, plant nutrient needs, other plant issues causing stress, having a possible rescue plan figured out just in case, would help the plants finish strong and your mental condition improve(maybe).
